Potluck sounds divine! I love going to the ones at our church. What a great way to try new dishes and even pick up some new recipes.
ReplyDeleteMmmmm....
Stop by and check out Free 2 Be Frugal sometime.
:)
Do you think there should be a balance frugality and nutrition? For example, you could buy a loaf of white bread for under a dollar but you have to pay over $2 to get any kind of whole grain bread. I notice that many "cheap" foods are also "cheap" on nutritional value. What are your thoughts on this? If money were no issue, would you eat differently? Maybe you could address this in a future blog post.
ReplyDeleteIt is hard eating healthy on a budget. I'll have to think about that. We do eat lots of rice and beans, and casseroles makes meat stretch further. I have a bread store I go to for discounted whole grain bread. I find that I'm more skimpy on fresh fruits and veggies- and that's not the stuff that goes on sale or stores well if it does!
